Pretreatment Products for Steel
If you're painting steel products and require a good surface for adhesion and corrosion resistance, then we have a product for you. We manufacture several types of iron phosphate coatings. Plus, we have a novel pretreatment called Steelcote 1400. This non-phosphate conversion coating works on both steel and aluminum; there's no need to add anything special or make changes to your process if you want to run more than one type of metal. Steelcote 1400 also works well on rubber-to-metal bonding applications.

SC 1400 contains no phosphates, yet runs at similar times, temperatures, and pHs. Provides outstanding adhesion and corrosion resistance for painted parts. We've easily achieved over 1000 hours in NSS with only 2-3 mils of paint. |
| IP-93 | 3 or 5 stage phosphate | A top performing iron phosphate that imparts a blue or gray coating. Runs at only 1 to 2% concentration. An ideal product for high volume applications. It can also be used with our PCA-89 in a 3 stage application. |
| IP-96 | 5 stage phosphate | A heavy-building IP specifically designed for rubber-to-metal bonding. Promotes adhesion between the substrate and the adhesive/rubber package. |
| IP-98 | 3 stage phosphate | A tough cleaner/coater product for use in a 3 stage washer. |
